Back by popular demand for the third year in a row, participate in a doll making workshop led by Barbara Bachmann (SWS parent and Briar Rose assistant) and Chloe Martel-Lorion (SWS parent). A light breakfast and lunch-time feast will be catered by Marika Fahndrich (SWS grade 12 student). The workshop will be held on Sunday, April 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants will go home with one 16” Waldorf doll. One participant from last year had this to share: “When I arrived at Miss Barbara’s home I was greeted with a lovely breakfast of scones, coffee, smoothies, fruit, and more, lovingly made by Marika. I would happily take cooking classes from Marika, the food was so amazing! All the women in the workshop had a leisurely visit over breakfast and then dove into work. There is not a better person to learn the doll making process from than Barbara. She is so detail oriented, patient, and fun! Her assistant Chloe was always there with a kind word of support and sound sewing skills as well. After we completed the heads of the doll, we enjoyed a lunch-time feast while we socialized. Talking with and meeting new people from our school is one of the best things about this auction item. Ours was a lively and enjoyable group and we had much fun chatting throughout. Marika didn’t let us lift one finger the entire day. I felt so spoiled! After lunch we went on sewing, stuffing, and sticking ourselves with the occasional needle, and by 4 o’clock we all had completed dolls to take home to our children. I can’t tell you enough how special these dolls are to our children because we made them ourselves.”
